The Maryland Avenue Pedestrian Safety Project will hold its first public meeting on Saturday, June 11, from 10:30 - noon, at the Sherwood Recreation Center (640 10th St NE). The meeting will address public safety on Maryland Avenue NE from 2nd to 15th Streets and will likely particularly focus on the intersections of 7th & 10th Streets, which currently lack stop lights, stop signs, or other subtantial pedestrian protections. If you'd like to see improvements to the pedestrian safety at these or other intersections along Maryland Avenue and/or want to advocate for additional bike lanes or raised cross walks in the neighborhood, this is your opportunity to do so.
