Marvelous Pizza - casual carryout/delivery at 941 H St

Marvelous Pizza is now open at 941 H Street, next to the 7-Eleven in the H Street Connection near the corner of 10th & H.  This is the first American outpost of a small Canadian chain.  Marvelous Pizza is a casual pizza spot, offering a handful of tables for dine in, as well as carry out and delivery.  We haven't tried their offerings yet, but are sure that Capitol Hill and H Street residents will be pleased to find another pizza delivery spot around in an area with too few such spots, even if many are more likely to satisfy their cravings for quality pizza at Liberty Tree or 7th Hill.  The full menu is not yet available, but a sample of opening deals follows.  Marvelous Pizza orders can be placed at 202-546-4675.

  1. Looks kindof shitty to me. I don't think this place will be able to keep up with the pace and trajectory of H Streets culinary path. Most of this looks like crappy, tasteless prepared food and this will not cut it these days. Maybe it'll make it a year.

  2. Looks terrible. Won't even try it. Why is a place like this even opening in H Street Connection when it is due to be redeveloped? What is the latest timeline on that project?

  3. I agree it looks terrible, but I thought this was pretty funny:

    Good stuff!

  4. LOL - You're all a bunch of a**holes. What do you think you in SOHO? Elitist pricks. The pie is good. Just because of you I'm ordering tonight.

  5. Tried it and it was about what you'd expect. I'll probably stick with Liberty Tree, but if I want delivery, I might do it again.

  6. I tried this place and it's as bad as it looks. Not sure if anyone is an elitist prick for not liking shitty pizza. Canadian pizza chains, no thanks. Why is it so hard to get decent pizza in DC? All you need to do is suck less than most and it would sell in DC.

  7. I stopped in and tried a couple of slices yesterday. Nothing fancy, pretty typical Papa John's/Dominoes style pizza. If you don't like that, you won't like this place.

It's not trendy or brick oven style, or New Haven style, or whatever. It's just regular pizza, not bad for what it is, nothing exceptional either.

  8. This place is bad trust me i used to work in there. Let me tell you this right uo front the store is dirty. I came to work at this place a few short weeks ago and when i came in the store that morning I saw dirty dishes everywhere this lady starts putting pizza on dirty trays, cuts pizza and other product with dirty blades, food has been dropped and given right to the customer. this lady that started this pizza business does not want to listen to people when they try to speak on go things to help her business. trust me when i say this do not waste your time or test your health at this spot.
