ANC6C review of Tru Orleans liquor license application tomorrow at 7 p.m.

ANC6C will review the application for a CR liquor license of Tru Orleans for 400 H Street at its Alcohol and Beverage Licensing Committee tomorrow at 7 p.m. at the District Chop House (509 7th St NW).  Unlike ANC6A, which is home to the eastern end of H Street, ANC6C does not have a standard voluntary agreement, so hours, noise, trash and other restrictions to ensure that the new establishment does not have a significant adverse impact on its immediate neighborhood will be negotiated through this process.  Anyone with an interest in the establishment is encourage to attend and participate.

The new chair of the ANC 6C ABL Committee is Commissioner Kevin Wilsey (6C09). He can be reached at kwilsey@thelansburgh.com

  1. See - this is the kind of thing that leads people to think the fix is in. Why isn't this meeting being held somewhere near the neighborhood that will actually be affected? Why should I have to go downtown to attend this meeting? This is goofy.

  2. The last time Tru Redding got an "entertainment endorsement" on a liquor license, it was for the strip club he owns in Ward 5, and that has gone steadily downhill.

  3. Tru Redding = Stringer Bell and I won't hear otherwise.

(I say that in the most endearing way)

  4. I love Stringer Bell. If he opens a restaurant on H Street, I AM THERE!

  5. The meeting was at the Chop House because that ANC 6C is more than just H Street... it also covers portions of Mt Vernon Square, Chinatown, etc. This is not some "fix is in" conspiracy.

Meanwhile, when they had to get zoning approval, they went to the ANC's planning committee meeting at NPR (Mass & 6th NW), while the full ANC will discuss this next week at Mass & 2nd NE.
