5th Annual FreshFarm food drive at H Street FreshFarm Market this Saturday, Nov 22

FreshFarm food drives are different than most, in that they focus on collecting FRESH food for donation.  They do this by collecting tax-deductible monetary donations from market shoppers and spending the money with their farmers on fresh foods, which all go to their gleaning partners.  These food drives are a great way to help farmers (who need every sale as the season winds down), help those in need, and connect shoppers with the FRESHFARM Markets philanthropic mission.

For the past five years the H Street NE FRESHFARM has worked with First Church of Christ, Holiness, which services needy families in Brookland.  Last year, with our donations, the market gave out 50 holiday baskets (complete with turkeys) and this year First Church wants to distribute 75 baskets!  FRESHFRESH is committed to purchasing 50 of these 75 turkeys from two H Street farmers, Full Cellar Farm and Garden Path farm and needs the community to pay for the turkeys.

Every year our little H Street NE FRESHFARM market raises more at our food drive than at the food drives at any other FFM market, including the huge Dupont market!  Let's be sure to make this trend continue this Saturday!

Make your donation at the yellow tent at the entrance to the Market as you wait for Frenchie's or buy fresh produce to donate and drop it as you leave.
