Friday May 31

The Fridge (6pm to 8pm)

If you grew up in the 70s or 80s, you watched superheroes save the world every Saturday morning.  In Men of Steel, Women of Wonder, a series of artists including DECOY, ULTRA & CHE KGB elevate comics to fine arts status.  For more info, click here.

The Fridge is located at 516 1/2 8th Street, SE.

Saturday June 1

2b Artist Studios (4pm to 8pm)

The Eckington artist studio hosts its second public open house.  This is the same space where one finds the “Small Gallery” located in the workspace’s bathroom! For more info, click here.

B Studios and the Small Room Gallery are located at 411 New York Avenue NE.

RandallScottProjects (6pm to 8pm)

H Street newcomer RandallScottProjects will show new works by Los Angeles-based artist Robert Kingston.  Like musical improvisation, Kingston’s works visually meander on the canvas creating detailed gestures and homogenous washes.  For more info, click here.

RandallScottProjects is located at 1326 H Street NE, 2nd Floor

Selman Gallery (7pm to 11:30pm)

Conversations inaugurates the collaboration of artists Malone & Ceppetli.  The artists explain "We are two painters painting as one." The large format work, which uses charcoal and re-used household paint, seeks to engage the viewer in the artists' conversation. For more info, click here.

The Selman Gallery is located at Brookland Artspace Lofts at 3305 8th St. NE
