Guy Steuart attended the February ANC6C meeting to discuss moving ahead with his mixed used development at 360º H Street, which will house a Giant grocery store and a few hundred apartments. Steuart reported that he was very close to his plans to break ground this Spring and asked the ANC to support curb cuts on 3rd Street to accesss parking for the grocery store.
This will be the first of several larger mixed use developments expected to break ground in the coming years. Another project along the corridor, the Flats at Atlas District broke ground just east of H Street last year and is progressing steadily at 1600 Maryland Ave NE. Redevelopement projects are also slated for the south side of the 200 block, the 600 block, the 800-900 blocks, and the 1100 block, and are anticipated on the south side of the 1200 block (Autozone lot) and the north side of the 1300 block (former library lot).
