Ethiopic (401 H St) turns one on Tuesday, March 15 and plans to celebrate with a special event.
Ethiopic is more than happy to announce that we will be celebrating our first year anniversary on March 15. All the proceeds from the anniversary celebration will go to the World of Tomorrow (WOT) initiative, which will benefit local schools with school projects and children in Ethiopia through existing schools and programs. And thereafter, Ethiopic will continue to donate 2% of all proceeds to the project. As Sam & Meseret explained their effort as follows "As a couple of immigrants with big dreams we hope to create the same opportunity for today's children in tomorrow's world." Please visit their website for more information under the WOT initiative tab for additional information and plan to join them to celebrate on Tuesday or to stop by to congratulate them on a great first year and to support their noble efforts going ahead. No reservations are required, but they may be made at 202-675-2066 or via opentable.
In other exciting news, Ethiopic shared that they will be moving ahead with a grant they received to improve the facade of the building that houses their restaurant. They expect the facelift to begin in a few weeks. It should go nicely with the new tree that was planted in front of the restaurant earlier this week and with the ongoing construction at Tru Orleans (400 H St) across the street.
Congratulations to a terrific restaurant and two great H Street neighborhood residents! We look forward to celebrating with you next week!
