CM Tommy Wells hosts Black History Month celebration at newly renovated NE Library (7th & MD) Sat., Feb. 15, 1 pm.

The NE Library was reopened with a ribbon cutting yesterday and Councilmember Wells is hosting a Black History Month Celebration featuring a reading from Dr. King's Letter from Birmingham Jail the Saturday after next.  This is a great opportunity to check out our gorgeous, newly renovated library. 

Councilmember Tommy Wells invites you to "A Celebration for Black History Month" on Saturday, February 15, 2014 from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm, at the newly renovated Northeast Library located at 330 7th Street, NE (corner of 7th & Maryland Ave NE).  This will be a wonderful event with Councilmember Tommy Wells reading "Letter from Birmingham Jail" by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and performances by the Washington Youth Choir (Eastern High School), Contra Verse (Cesar Chavez PCS- Poetry Slam Team) and Jabari Exum, a Spoken Word artist.
