DPR Fun Day during DC Public Schools Professional Development Day on February 14

DPR Offers "DPR Fun Day" on February 14 During DC Public Schools' Professional Development Day
Second of Three "DPR Fun Days" to be held during the 2013-2014 DCPS School Year

DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) recently announced the second DPR Fun Day will be held on Friday, February 14, 2014.  DC Public Schools will close that entire day for staff development, therefore DPR will offer DPR Fun Day, a single-day program offering fun and enriching activities (such as sports activities, arts & crafts, and more) for children ages 6 - 12 years old. 
 
DPR Fun Day will be offered at 12 DPR sites on Friday, February 14, 2014 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Registration for Fun Day is now open.  Before care and after care will not be offered. DPR Fun Day will incorporate DPR’s “Move, Grow and Be Green” initiative, as DPR continues to plant the seeds of personal development and environmental responsibility.

Although there is no "application" or registration fee for this program, online pre-registration is required.    Space fills on a first-come, first-served basis and enrollment at each site is subject to availability. It is recommended that parents create an online account for all members of their family in DPR's registration system before the registration period in order to be prepared. Registration closes at 12 pm on Thursday, February 13, 2014.

Children should be sent with their lunch and snacks for the day as DPR staff will not provide these items. Parents are asked to adhere to DPR's policies on food and snacks, which will be available on DPR's website at the time of registration.
