The Washington Post Five Bar Trends for 2011 is pretty into H Street, touting new roof decks and back patios at Rock n Roll Hotel, Tru Orleans, Biergarten Haus, Smith Commons, and the Queen Vic, and sharing the good news that H Street is not to be mistaken for Adams Morgan, noting that the new places that opened on H Street this year "seem more urbane" and "sophisticated" highlighting Church & State's high-end cocktails, the British pub vibe at the Queen Vic, sophisticated ramen at Toki Underground, the multicultural vibe and craft beers at Smith Commons, the Wall Street-esque pricing scheme at the Big Board.
The Washington Post also says Star & Shamrock is the go-to spot for Heebsters (Hip Jews).
Big Board (421 H St) launched weekday lunch service. Remember they are closed Tuesdays, but now there's a great spot to grab a bite on the western end of H Street durign the week. Take note, Senate, SEC, NoMa workers and other folks in the neighborhood during the day.
