Hikari Sushi & Sake Bar -- Coming Soon to 644 H Street

The building next to H Street Storage has been undergoing extensive renovation work for the past several months.  Rumors have long been that it would be a sushi restaurant and we can now confirm that Hikari Sushi & Sake Bar is planning to open at 644 H Street NE. 


The building has been empty for some time now and was previously home to a tax shop.  It's immediately east of H Street Storage and just a couple doors down from recently opened Inspire BBQ (650 H St) and Adobe Design (654 H St), near the NW corner of 7th & H.

    is that a scrolling electric sign in the window?

    if so....tacky.

    The building looks nice. The sign looks tacky. I hope the food is like the building and the signage is temporary and replaced by something permanent when they open.

    I like the scrolling sign and do not find it tacky. Who eats tater tots with sushi while drinking sake?

    Very exciting. Between this and HR57 the middle part of H is getting closer to filling in.
