Bastille Day celebration jazz guitar concert & wine tasting at the Atlas, Thursday, July 14

Don't miss the Bastille Day celebration next Thursday, July 14, at the Atlas Performing Arts Center (1333 H St).   There are a few things going on, but the main event is a concert by Gypsy Jazz Guitar Virtuoso Stephane Wrembel. Anyone who has seen the new Woody Allen movie "midnight in paris" has listened to his guitar playing as his song "bistro fada" is the theme that is played through out the film. He also has done complete albums with David Grisman and his own band, headlined Lincoln Center, and had music in "Vicky Christina Barcolona" during his career.


The event starts at 6:30 with a wine tasting that is open to the public. The will be about 15 different wines from 3 regions of France. There will have wines by the glass and open tasting bracelets for sale. There will also be a cheese maker on site giving out samples and selling cheese along with a crepe maker. The music starts at 8:00pm and the Stephane goes on around 8:45. The Atlas is also running Paris is burning in the other room. Every concert ticket includes a glass of wine.
