*No Saturday class yet*
Many of you have lamented that I don't have a Saturday class. I'm looking to perhaps add that next fall but at this point have not been able to rearrange my schedule to teach it.
*Never done Music Together?*
This class is a great activity for you and your child to participate in. The program is designed for children 0-3 years old. A Music Together class can benefit children for the the rest of their lives. Children explore the world through play. The focus of this program is to explore sound and rhythm and bring it into the everyday aspects of your family's life together.
*What makes Music Together® Great?*
*Musical Diversity* - each Music Together Collection is created in a way that explores diverse modalities and complex rhythms but packages them in a playful way.
*Foundation for Formal Instruction* - In the same way we learn to speak before we read, children must feel melody and rhythm comfortably before they can take further steps in formal musical education. Music Together provides a strong foundation for later musical development.
*Caregiver Involvement* - Sometimes, engaging your children can be exhausting. Music Together offers a different way to play with your child — with rhythm and song!
*Social interaction* - sharing a regular activity is important for children and for parents. Making music as a group is something we don’t often allow ourselves to do. Participating in a group builds community.
*It’s Easy* - Caregivers needn’t have any musical training to participate.
By simply trying your best, children are made to feel it’s safe to experiment as well.
*Class Description*
Classes meet for 45 minutes each week for 10 weeks. During the class period, children and their caregivers play with music and movement exploring a diverse range of sound and rhythm. Caregiver participation provides the model that allows children to freely explore music and dance. Music Together classes allow parents and young children the chance to explore their relationship in a musical way. In addition, the diversity of music provides a strong musical foundation for future formal instruction.
*Class Expectations*
You are your child’s first and greatest teacher. Therefore my one requirement is that all grown-ups participate 100%.
