This Weekend on H Street

Atlas Theatre hosts Gilbert & Sullivan's Mikado on Friday and Saturday nights. The show will run each of the next three weekends.

Art Galleries Evolve (1375 Maryland Ave) and City Gallery (804 H St) host opening receptions for new exhibits on Saturday evening.

Local Elementary School Ludlow Taylor (659 G St) hosts Market Day on Saturday with a silent auction (11-1:30) and other events for children and adults.

Newly opened businesses Metro Mutts (508 H St) and Dangerously Delicious Pies (1339 H St) are open for business. Stop by for some treats for your dog after you take the kids to play at or bid on prizes for yourself at Market Day and pick up a slice or a pie for dinner or dessert after checking out two of the H Street Corridor's great art galleries. On Sunday, Joe Buck will be performing at Dangerously Delicious with "Pie Man" Dangerously Delicious Founder/Owner Rodney Henry serving as the opening act starting at 8 p.m.

Throw in a visit to Tom Sietsema's favorite new bar Toyland (421 H St) for pre or post-dinner at Ethiopic (401 H St) drinks or check out Liberty Tree (1016 H St) what Don Rockwell calls "the best bet on H Street" notable for its "good beer selection" and "attractive interior" and you've got what should be a beautiful weekend's worth of events on H Street.
