Meeting with NPS re: NPS controlled Capitol HIll Parks

The National Parks Service is responsible for many of the parks across the Hill, including Stanton Park, Lincoln Park, and the pocket park and playground at 11th & Maryland Ave NE.  If you are interested in these parks or have maintenance concerns about them, you may want to attend this meeting on Monday evening at the NE Library. 
 
 
Dear Residents of the Capitol Hill Parks Community,
 
The National Park Service – Capitol Hill Parks Community Meeting has been scheduled.  This meeting is a follow-up to our previous meetings held in September and December of 2013 and March 2014 which will allow us to discuss any new topics that may have arisen since we last met.  As requested, a location within walking distance for community residents has been secured.
 
The meeting specifics are as follows:

Location:            Northeast Neighborhood Library 
                                330 7th St., N.E.

Please assist us in spreading the word to your community networks so that neighbors can attend and learn about the National Park Service's goals and plans related to the enhancement of the Capitol Hill Parks.
We plan to discuss the following: 

  • Turf Renovation Plan 
  • Marion Park Walks Project 
  • Partnership with the Capitol Hill Garden Club
  • Park Summer Programs
  • Special Use Permits Discussion
  • Integrated Pest Management
