Congratulations to Ethiopic and Toki Underground for their inclusion in Washington Post Dining Editor Tom Sietsema's Fall Dining Guide. Ethiopic has become a regular on Sietsema's lists of DC's best restaurants, but this is Toki's first inclusion. We're glad to see he's come around and recognized Erik's terrific good as worthy of the hype and the inevitable wait for seats.
The Washington Post Express Night Out polled city residents about the best spots in town and a host of H Street hotspots came up big.
Toki Underground was the choice for Best New Restaurant.
Dangerously Delicious won for best pies.
Sticky Rice won the most praise for sushi.
Taylor Gourmet was tops for sandwiches.
Ethiopic was runner up for best Ethiopian.
The Atlas Performing Arts Center was voted one of teh top three small theatres.
Biergarten Haus received the top honor for outdoor drinking.
The Pug was top two for best dive bar.
H Street Country Club was the best bar for game playing
Metro Mutts won as best pet store.
The X2 bus line came in third among city buses. That must be a reflection of its heavy ridership and not its quality of service, which we continue to find lacking due to its inefficiency. In the meantime, we prefer to bikeshare whenever possible.
Congratulations to all these great neighborhood businesses!
